UK confirms 36 NEW cases of monkeypox

THERE are now 56 confirmed cases of monkeypox in England, and one reported in Scotland. Health chiefs have urged people to be alert to the symptoms of the disease, which includes a flu-like illness and a blistering rash.

A KEY feature of monkeypox is a nasty rash that starts on the face before spreading. During one to two weeks, the rash blisters and scabs over. The UK Health and Security Agency (UKHSA) have provided photos of the rash as it progresses.
